3. Die Monitore sollten entweder weniger als 60 Zentimeter (ohne Subwoofer) oder mehr als Meter (mit Subwoofer) von der Wand entfernt sein. Alles dazwischen führt in den meisten Fällen zu einem unruhigen Frequenzgang. Den optimalen Platz findest du durch Ausprobieren: Lasse einen Sinus-Testton laufen und setze Dich an verschiedene Stellen innerhalb der oben genannten Abstände. An dem Ort wo Du den Frequenzgang am glattesten wahrnimmst befindet sich Dein neuer Abhörpunkt. Hier kannst du schon erkennen, dass du mit einem Subwoofer flexibler bist.
4. Inzwischen hast du den passenden Aufstellpunkt auf den beiden “Boden-Achsen” gefunden. Nun ist es wichtig, dass die beiden Monitore zueinander richtig aufgestellt werden. Die Lautsprecher und dein Kopf sollten ein gleichseitiges Dreieck bilden. Das heist, dass die Abstände zwischen den Boxen (Gemessen von Hochtöner zu Hochtöner) und zu deinem Hinter-Kopf gleich sein sollten. 1. Stelle den Subwoofer zunächst an deinen Abhörplatz. Ja, richtig gelesen, an den Ort an den du normalerweise sitzt.
2. Spiele einen Test-Ton in Höhe der Trenn-Frequenz ab. Diese findest du im Manual deines Subwoofers. Meistens liegt sie zwischen 80 Hz und 85 Hz. Einige Subwoofer können den Testton selbst produzieren.
3. Krieche nun vor der Wand am Boden entlang und suche nach dem Druckmaxima (wo Du den Ton am lautesten wahrnimmst). Markiere die Stelle.
4. Suche als nächstes nach dem Druck-Minimum (wo Du den Ton am leisesten wahrnimmst). Markiere auch diese Stelle.
5. Platziere den Subwoofer genau zwischen den beiden Markierungen. Done
Als letzen Schritt musst du den Subwoofer noch an die beiden Monitoren anpassen. Es muss ein passendes Lautstärke und Phasenverhältnis eingestellt werden. Die meisten Hersteller bieten dazu Testsignale an. Hier ein Beispiel eines Neumann-Sub. Damit hast Du Deinen Sub schnell optimal eingestellt.
